“Here in Kingston, our Emancipation Day Black Block Party is entirely community-led and run - a grassroots effort organized by volunteers in response to city budget constraints. We’re doing this because it matters. We are keeping this day alive, not solely in recognition…[ of a decree that was passed too little to late, but instead to celebrate and uplift]… Black stories, Black-owned businesses, and Black community.”
When you show up, donate, or spread the word , you’re doing a small part in affirming and showing support for belonging in Kingston! All are welcome, Do come and celebrate with us!
There will be food, music, dancing, face painting and storytelling, & more! Plus win over $300 worth of prizes thanks to Black Dog Hospitality, Pedal Works, and the Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem - Southeastern Ontario
